    Kim Orrick | Past President

When I joined GACTE and later chose to run for office on the board of directors, it was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made for my professional career. I gained a new appreciation of ALL Career and Technical Education. It is so rewarding to be part of an association with so many passionate educators who take great pride in their profession and all working to make a real difference in students’ lives.

    Matthew Gambill | Executive Director

My passion for CTAE began when I was a sophomore in high school. The skills I learned were invaluable and birthed within me the passion I have for CTAE teachers, students and programs. I know the benefit that our programs have on the lives of the students we teach. Our CTAE teachers are the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I have ever met and they inspire me to make sure that CTAE and GACTE are being adequately represented at the local, state and national levels. I want to ensure that GACTE is meeting the needs of our teachers while also advocating for the future of our CTAE programs.

  • Dr. Tonja Tift | Past President

I believe it is vital that Career and Technical Education continue to be viewed as the catalyst to ensure the success of our students. As CTE continues to build and strengthen partnerships with businesses, the students we serve will have the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and experience that will prove invaluable to them as they prepare to enter into the workforce. I am thankful for the work that GACTE does to support our CTAE teachers and students.

  • Kelly Almond | GACTE President, 2016-2017

Witnessing the constant evolution of Career and Technical Education and the increasingly challenging demands of the workforce reinforces the need for an organization like GACTE. Providing the most up-to-date professional development specifically centered around the needs of the career tech educator aids in providing students with first-class training. This enables Georgia students to gain a competitive edge upon entering the workforce and/or continuing their education. This concerted effort coupled with business and industry has produced the touchstone that other states build upon.
